The Warriors Kickboxing Club has just held its student grading examination at the training base in the Gżira secondary school.
Master Julian Lee Ritchie addressed participants and explained that there is no limit in sport. The more effort one puts in, the better the result obtained, he said.
He also pointed out that some might have a wrong assumption when thinking that the final step in achieving their goal is advancing to Black Belt grade only.
Ritchie also welcomed a group of newcomers to the club who joined the training sessions motivated by different objectives such as keep fit, weight loss, self-discipline or self-defence.
"The ideal learner is the one who listens attentively, has respect for himself and others and is aware of his own potential and limitations," Ritchie said.
Three advanced students who have successfully graded to Brown Belt were Cherie Ritchie, Jeanette Spiteri and Kevin Attard.
The following also graded to a higher belt at the club:
Yellow: Mark Briffa.
Orange: Bruce Lee Ciangura, Brandon Lee Ciangura, Brandon Lee Schembri, Marie Claire Fonk, Richard Bongalais, Ylenia Xuereb.
Green: Andrea Borg, Trevor Mifsud, Christine Spiteri.
Blue: Mavrik Everest, Anouchka Horzella, Vicky Cassar Torreggiani.
Purple: Robert Schembri, Anthony Farrugia.
Red: Stacey Saliba, Neville Farrugia.
The Warriors Kickboxing Club holds sessions twice a week. Those interested may obtain more details by phoning 9987-0413.
