Players from the Hibernians Basketball Nursery have just attended the Green Camp 2009 which was held in Castalia, Marina di Ragusa, Sicily.

The camp was well-attended with the Hibernians contingent composed of 40 players from the U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15 categories. They were also joined by youngsters from Serie B2 club Verga Palermo.

Those at the camp had a demanding schedule to complete on each day of their stay in Sicily, with Maltese coach Wayne Attard in charge of the physical preparation of the players.

Each day emphasis was laid on different aspects of basketball basics with most of the focus being on shooting, dribbling, passing and ball handling.

On the last day of the camp, a series of friendly matches were played involving teams from Hibs and Verga Palermo in different categories.

Among the distinguished guests invited for Green Camp 2009 this year were Malta coaches Bruno Dipietrantonio and Santino Coppa, and renowned Italian mentors Paolo Cianfrini, Mimmo Trivelli and Emanuele Sgarlata.

Sandro Farrugia, the assistant Malta women's team coach, was also present for the camp.

The Hibs contingent was led by nursery coaches Tony Cassar, Winnie Buhagiar, Jenny Mangani and Silvio Cassar.
