A small plant most likely to be cannabis sativa was found in a yard adjacent to Mount Carmel’s Forensic Ward at around 10am.

The police said that initial investigations established that the plant was very similar to the cannabis sativa family.

An analystic expert was appointed to examine the plant and an inquiry has been ordered.

Earlier, the police said that a 33-year-old man from St Venera is to be arraigned shortly after the police found 21 cannabis plants at a garage in Qormi.

The police said they have been observing the man for the past days.

They said the plants were being cultivated for trafficking.
