The fourth game from the Captain's XI vs Chairman's XI series was played last weekend.

The Chairman's team, looking to even the score at two-all, batted first with Malcolm Crabbe and Firoz producing a 48-run partnership before Crabbe was caught at mid-wicket for 14 runs.

Firoz was next out after a further five runs were made scoring 22.

Then came a huge partnership of 115 from Tosif and Andy Naudi. Tosif was bowled just after reaching his half century. Naudi went on to make 71 runs, his score including 12 boundaries.

At this stage the Chairman's team were set for a big total but the bowling of Angelo Spiteri and Mike Caruana put a stop to the run feast.

Caruana took three wickets for 22 runs from eight overs while Spiteri took two for 26 from 7.5 overs.

The Chairman's team were bowled out in the 47th over.

John Grima remained 19 not out while Sarfraz Ali had made 22.

Kevin Krishna, for the Captain's XI, had also taken two wickets.

John Callus and Chris Naudi opened the batting for the Captain's team.

Together they put on a solid start of 99 runs before Naudi was bowled for 20. Callus was then involved in another partnership of 83, this time with Angelo Spiteri who made 49 before being caught.

A couple of quick wickets, that of George Agius (eight runs) and Javed Shah (four runs), fell in succession, giving the Chairman's team a ray of hope.

But, Mike Caruana was next in and he helped Callus finish off the run chase. Callus ended 121 not out.

The Captain's team now lead this year's series 3-1. The fifth game of the series will be played on Saturday morning.
