Christopher Shepherd, 39, who is currently serving a prison term on theft-related charges today admitted in court to having stolen 13 historic shotguns worth €95,000. The theft took place from the Customs General Examination Shed in Marsa last February.

Another man, Mark Rizzo, 44 of Zabbar, denied involvement in the same crime.

Magistrate Edwina Grima jailed Mr Shepherd for two and a half years while Mr Rizzo was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.
