Access to Valletta
As a businessman in Valletta, I too am concerned about the loss of parking in Valletta and also how entering the city is going to be restricted.
I am in favour of the previous idea where beneath the new Parliament there would be a huge car park with access from the ditch and one would enter directly into the city without needing to drive through the city streets.

To make a huge underground parking at the entrance of Valletta, will not solve the problem, because you can use the ditch itself and the road which takes you to Great siege road. Then go up with lifts. The problem remains " if " Pope V road ( the road taking you through Valletta from Castille ) will be abolish is for the deliveries for shops and residents. If trying to come in from the out skirts of Valletta " Marsamxetto road or Mediterean road " it will be a farce, because every road going though the middle of the City are up hill and really steep. The only chance ( if the project will be done as it is ) will be that the incoming traffic enters from castille through South street, than Bakery street, and we will make the policeman in the middle of the road next to the Wembly store, like it use to be. For me scrape the whole project, and open a competion for the best project and every body, even Joe can take part. The best one will be awarded with a sum of money and a diploma.

"A huge car park" under the new parliament building? Are you joking?

This suggestion will help you sleep better at night and relive all your concerns. Catch a bus!!! This applies to all people that work, shop in Valletta, or visit for whatever purpose including tourism. MP's not excepted. Exception only for the disabled (and "drop only") and emergency services. All deliveries between 6am and 8am or 6 pm and ten pm. All car problems round Valletta gone.
