Two deny stealing handbag
A Romanian man and an Eritrean immigrant yesterday denied stealing from a bar in Paceville.
Calin Doru, 23, who resides in Sliema, and Solomon Tekle, 19, from the Marsa Open Centre, pleaded not guilty to stealing a handbag and a mobile phone from two women in Footloose at 4.30 a.m. on Saturday.
Mr Tekle alone pleaded not guilty to escaping from custody, attacking and slightly injuring a police officer and damaging his watch and earpiece.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke remanded the men in custody.
Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted. Dr Anthony Cutujar appeared for the two men.

an illegal immigrant attacking a policeman !!! Had it been the other way round we would have had the NGOs organising a press conference, but when our fellow Maltese citizens , police and soldiers are attacked the NGOs do not even have the decency to condem it.

It's not that Maltese workers can do the jobs properly but foreigners including illegal immigrants accepting miserly wages and working conditions while living on our taxes and undercutting wages and working conditions of Maltese workers. That is what membership in the eu means. Exploitation of workers by imported labour.

@F Bartolo
It could be that many of your Maltese brothers do not find jobs because they simply aren't good enough. For Malta's own sake, jobs should go to those who can do them properly.

Yet another foreigner breaking the law in Malta, ofcourse we have a soft touch attitude with foreigners., thats why we are over crowded with illegals and foreigners galore, yet my Maltese brothers most are unemployed and find it hard to make ends meet, especially the younger generation. We need tougher laws to combat these peole that takes us for idiots.
