Christopher Micallef was honoured last week for achieving the first Maltese doctorate from the Centre for Labour Market Studies of the University of Leicester.

The chief executive officer of the Foundation for Human Resources Development, Joe Gerada, presented a memento to Dr Micallef and said more students were looking at the foundation as the ideal partner to help them move on in their career.

He said the foundation worked closely with the University of Leicester and emphasised that its priority was to help more individuals upgrade their qualification.

During the event 14 other graduates were presented with certificates. Certificate course graduates included Antonella Lia Agius, Amy Camilleri, Fleur Saliba and Ivan Bezzina. Diploma course graduates were Felicienne Buttigieg, Jennifer Camilleri and Nathalie Xuereb Saydon. Those who obtained a Master's degree were Joe Abela, Etienne Bartolo, Christine Buttigieg, Stefania Camilleri, Charmaine Psaila and Thomas Woods.
