Various parts of Malta and Gozo were without electricity this afternoon because of a fault in one of the power station boilers at Delimara.

Power was lost at about 2 p.m. but Enemalta said its engineers managed to restore supply within an hour.

The areas affected were Tarxien, Marsascala, Bugibba, Mosta, Mellieha, parts of Gozo, Zebbiegh, Rabat, Mosta, Lija, Fgura, parts of Birkirkara and Msida.

Many radio stations were also off air.

Enemalta said it regretted the inconvenience.
