The Queensland flag (2)

A number of British and Australian writers give the impression that the cross on the Queensland state flag came about due to the Victoria Cross but this is unlikely.

The Victoria Cross is a four pointed cross and looks similar to the German iron cross while the cross on the Queensland's flag is an eight pointed cross and resembles the cross of the Order of St John.

Therefore, it has to be a myth that the Victoria Cross had a connection with the Maltese Cross being placed on the Queensland flag.
