Young man injured by electric shock
The Civil Protection Department were called in to bring an 18-year-old down from some scaffolding after he suffered an electric shock. This photo was taken by Żabbar resident Manuela Micallef using her mobile phone.
A teenager received an electric shock yesterday morning while doing restoration work on the façade of the Żabbar church.
The 18-year-old from Qormi was hospitalised, although the police described his injuries as slight. The youngster was on some scaffolding and had to be brought down by members of the Civil Protection Department.
Sources said he was conscious as he was taken down.

This only means one thing. That an RCD (known previously as an earth leakage circuit breaker [ELCB]) was not being used. Have the OHSA officers taken notice of this and have they booked the contractor and other persons responsible for not providing a safe environment and safety equipment to their employees?
