Vista now in Maltese
Some 400,000 English words have been translated to make the Windows Vista Language Interface Pack available in Maltese.
The service pack, available in 48 languages, was introduced yesterday by Malta Information Technology Agency, in collaboration with Microsoft Malta, which developed the Maltese pack.
The process involved a translation by local professional translators, which was later reviewed by a Maltese language expert.
The language pack follows the publication of Windows XP Maltese interface pack in 2006.
Microsoft Malta country manager Pierre Mallia said the latest version will help professionals, government departments, students and companies who prefer to communicate in Maltese.
Owners of genuine Windows Vista can download the Maltese Language Interface Pack, which is live and available for free from Microsoft's website.

@JohnMeilak: I've been using Windows7 since last October and have tested various builds, ranging from Alpha versions up to the RTM now (yes the same version you people will have next October). Compared to Vista, there are a lot of differences from various aspects. The 2 most noticeable differences are performance and GUI (Graphical User Interface). In simple terms, I got Win7 to run as fast as WinXP even on an old computer during my testing (without any modifications). Vista failed to run efficiently on that same PC! The GUI is A LOT improved and doesn't look at all like Vista. Go check it out for yourself on YouTube or other UP TO DATE review articles. I assure everyone that 7 is everything but Vista, and approximately has the equivalent performance of XP. This coupled with new features, especially compatibility which is by far better than XP or Vista. The Kernel was changed a lot!
The ZDNet article you linked us to was written on January 2008 (more than a year & a half ago!). "Vista Release 2" is also available as ServicePack 2 and can be downloaded for free. It's not the same as Windows 7!

@Joe Fenech
Maltese is limited only because its speakers are limited.
@P. Schembri
Windows 7 is nothing but another name for Windows Vista Release 2. Software that runs on the Windows Vista platform will also run on Windows 7.

Ludicrous!!!!!! It will be like the EU documents - full of bastard use of foreign terms. Let's admit that Maltese is OK for everyday use but is very limiting when it come to technical terminology.
Ooopps.....ha jkolli nistartja it-Twieqi ta' Software Zghir Hafna (Microsoft Windows) ghax il-kalkolatur (computer) habat (crashed)!

Simply send them the correct words to use and they should issue an update.
