TVM maintains lead in TV rankings
Television Malta has retained top position in an audience survey carried out by the Broadcasting Authority for the second quarter of this year.
The BA said that in terms of TV reach by broadcasting station, TVM had a 34.87 percent audience share, compared to 33 percent in the same period last year.
One TV were second at 11.2 percent from 15.1 percent in April-June 2008.
The ranking of the other local stations were: Net TV, which saw a drop to 4.62 percent from 8.5 percent in the same quarter last year, Smash (1.03%) Favourite (0.26%) and Education 22 (0.09%).
In radio, Bay Radio had the biggest listenership at 23.2 percent, up from 16.2 percent in the same period last year.
Next came Super One at 15.9 percent, down from 19.5 percent while Calypso Radio was unchanged at 10.4 percent.
The other stations in popularity rankings were RTK (8.9 percent) Radio Marija (8.4 percent) Magic Radio (6.6%) Radju Malta (6.3%) Radio 101 (4.3%).

well lets's face it.......TVM has no real competition. The programmes produced by the other local
channels are of poor quality and too much politics, one channel is always criticising whatever
the Government decides and makes, net, is always blowing its horns.
every night it is the same boring music.

No wonder that TVM leads in TV rankings considering the amount of public money Govt is pumping into private companies making use of TVM.
