The busy stretch between the Jupiter roundabout in Mosta and the sharp bend at the junction to Bidnija is closed to traffic until tomorrow for resurfacing, the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) said in a statement.
The stretch, Vjal Millbrae, was partially closed over the weekend and motorists experienced frustration and delays as heavy traffic built up and got diverted.
The ADT originally placed newspaper adverts last week informing motorists that the stretch would be closed last Saturday and Sunday.
However, other adverts appeared again yesterday saying the stretch would be closed until tomorrow.
Traffic from Mosta towards Burmarrad and St Paul's Bay is being diverted around the roundabout to the former Civil Defence School and down it-Telgħa t'Alla w'Ommu. Traffic from Burmarrad and St Paul's Bay heading towards Mosta is being diverted towards Kennedy Grove, Salini and up it-Telgħa t'Alla w'Ommu. A special bus service is available for people in Burmarrad. Buses will commute every half hour between Erba' Mwieżeb Roundabout and Sherries Garden Centre on Burmarrad Road. Commuters will then be able to board route buses at Erba' Mwieżeb Roundabout.
