A 24-year-old man was yesterday charged with assaulting and slightly injuring his two brothers, whom he lived with, following separate fights this month.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke heard how Carlo Micallef and his brothers, who live in St Paul's Bay, regularly ended up in arguments that escalated into fights.

"You need to discuss matters like adults and not let out your frustrations onto one another," the magistrate told the brothers in court during Mr Micallef's arraignment.

He pleaded not guilty to slightly injuring his brother Ludwig on Saturday and injuring his other brother, Clive, the previous weekend.

The magistrate granted Carlo Micallef bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 and on condition he no longer lives with his brothers.

Police Inspector Therese Sciberras prosecuted.

Lawyer Michael Sciriha represented the accused.
