Obama's US health care reform is 'evil'

Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin blasted President Barack Obama's health care proposals as "evil", saying in a statement that the plan would include a bureaucratic "death panel" that would decide who gets assistance.

In a statement posted on Friday on her Facebook social networking website, Palin - who on July 26 resigned as governor of Alaska - attacked the "nationalised health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress."

"And who will suffer the most when they ration care?" Palin asked. "The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care.
