A 31-year-old Iraqi is pleading not guilty to threatening and assaulting four police officers who intervened to stop a fight in St Julians yesterday.

Gaser Salman Darman claimed he too had tried to part the two men who were fighting in the road where he lived.

He also pleaded not guilty to disobeying their orders.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke granted Mr Darman bail against a €200 deposit and a personal guarantee of €2,000.
