Another example of ADT incompetence

I have just returned from a car trip to Gozo and would like to share with readers the "excellent" customer service I encountered from the Malta Transport Authority (ADT). Having found a parking spot I found out that this was in a controlled time zone and therefore needed a parking-clock. As I have never used this system before I did not have one so I went to the nearest shop to get one. I was told that these were available from the ADT booth at the bus terminus.

I walked some distance to the booth and the attendant gave me one and asked for 60 cents. I gave him a €5 note, whereupon he winced and asked me whether I had smaller change. I replied that this was not an especially large amount but he said that he had no change and he asked me to get something smaller - no apologies, of course.

So I walked back to the car in sweltering heat and my wife, who was on stand-by lest a warden happened to come along, gave me a €2 coin, with which I proceeded to the booth. Back at the booth I gave the attendant the coin whereupon he told me that he still cannot give the clock and that if I wanted one I had to give him the exact change.

Frustrated no end, I went around trying to get change so I could accommodate the ADT!

Surely if one is selling a product one must have a float to serve the customer, but then this is the notoriously incompetent ADT.

I do not know if the Gozo Tourist Association is aware of the wonderful service that the ADT is providing but they should certainly check it out.

I know that the ADT will ignore this letter and I do not expect otherwise from a totally mismanaged entity, which must surely be considered a national disgrace. How is it that they cannot get anything right? How much longer can the minister responsible tolerate this incompetence?

I forgot to mention that I was never given a receipt, so I assume that no VAT was paid, either.
