Updated: Tremor strikes east of Malta

A tremor measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale has been felt in several areas of the country. Seismologist Pauline Galea said the Seismic Monitoring and Research Unit of the Physics Department at the University recorded and located the tremor at 11.06 a.m.

A tremor measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale has been felt in several areas of the country.

Seismologist Pauline Galea said the Seismic Monitoring and Research Unit of the Physics Department at the University recorded and located the tremor at 11.06 a.m. under the seabed 43 kilometres east of Malta.

Valletta resident Anika Sciberras said residents felt the tremor at around 11.15 a.m.
