The organisers of the second national Workshop in Information and Communication Technology (WICT 2009) have issued a call for papers. The deadline is September 21 and the submission platform will be open from the beginning of August.

WICT 2009, to be held on November 17 at the Aula Magna, Old University Building, Valletta, is the second edition of the national ICT conference organised by the University of Malta's Faculty of ICT. The purpose of this conference is to promote research and applications of technologies and practices in the field of ICT.

WICT 2009 solicits the submission of high quality original papers dealing with both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. Topics should include (but are not limited to) any aspect computer information systems, computer science, artificial intelligence, communications and computer engineering, and micro and nano electronics.

Maggie Mcpherson from the University of Leeds and Carlo Azzopardi from STMicroelectronics have already been confirmed as keynote speakers.

This year the organising committee has established an award for the Best Paper to be presented at WICT 09.
