A fund of €100,000 has been set up to help civil organisations tap into EU funds to finance their projects.
The fund, inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said, aims to co-finance projects that are partly funded by the EU and is similar to one launched earlier this year for local councils.
During a meeting of the Malta-EU Steering Action Committee, Dr Said said that while this fund would not cover the full co-payment organisations had to finance, it would help them embark on projects which they were not able to raise the funds for.
Dr Said also introduced a revised civil society fund. This provides grants to social partners and non-governmental organisations to enable them to strengthen their European dimension through the affiliation with, or participation in, European groups, associations or federations.
