A five-week-old kitten that was discovered doused in glue along Birżebbuġa's main road has been nursed back to health and is now looking for a home.

The Animal Rights Group said the kitten, named Milo, was barely breathing and in a pitiful condition when it was found, but the vet decided to give it a chance.

Milo was put on intravenous fluids and it responded well to the treatment. However, its coat remained matted in glue.

"We had to remove the glue from within his ears and skin which some sadistic being had enjoyed inflicting on this helpless kitten before leaving him to die - it looked as if someone had actually painted on the glue," a group spokesman said.

The volunteers spent days removing the glue, inch by inch, using surgical spirit and cotton wool to gently dissolve it, before washing the area with a moisturising detergent.

"The whole procedure to clean up all the glue took us over two months. Milo is now strong, healthy and ready to be adopted into a loving home."

Those interested in adopting Milo, who is vaccinated, can call on 2157 3851 or 7927 2659.
