CMTU supports government statement on Cola

The Confederation of Malta Trade Unions said it supported the government’s confirmation that no unilateral action on the cost of living adjustment would be taken.

It said this provides the government with the perfect opportunity to renew and strengthen its position on the social dialogue process and to maintain its credibility with all the social partners.

The CMTU appealed to all stakeholders to be prudent and responsible in their approach and to do what was right for the benefit of the worker, the family and business.

"It is only through an open and transparent social dialogue process that this can be realistically achieved," it said.
