The MCA Summer League continued last weekend with Krishna playing Overseas and Marsa taking on Melita.
Overseas batted first and totalled a mere 79 runs from their allotted overs.
Joe Wilson was first to go, scoring four runs, and Phil Gibbs soon followed on five. Roger Bradley held the innings together, hitting seven 4s in his tally of 43 as Piers Allen added 11 for Overseas.
For Krishna, Tosif was the main wicket-taker with three.
Krishna's reply was solid and made the required runs in the 13th over.
John Grima opened the batting with Sam Aquilina who only managed eight runs before being caught. Kevin Krishna was also caught for two runs.
Tosif then joined Grima at the crease and put on a match-winning parnership of 46. Both batsmen were 32 not out. Joe Wilson and Alex Taylor were the only wicket-takers for Overseas.
Krishna earned seven points to take their tally to 22. Overseas did not earn any points and remained on 18.
In the second game, Marsa batted first and produced a much better performance than their previous game. They scored a match-winning total of 187 runs. Angelo Spiteri scored 28, Dave Newton batted well for 52 as Javed Shah hit 34 and Derek Ali 45.
For Melita, Anthony Roberts and Sudeep both took two wickets each.
In reply, Melita were bowled out for 100 runs with Joy Ghoseroy top scoring with 59 runs not out including nine 4s.
For Marsa, Dave Newton was top of the batting order by taking two wickets for his team.
