The Labour Party and the hunters' federation (FKNK) have agreed to set up a working group to discuss developments affecting the sector, the federation announced. The decision was taken at a 'very cordial' meeting with PL leader Joseph Muscat at PL headquarters.

During the meeting the two sides discussed the main issues which are negatively affecting hunters and trappers, particularly because of the wrong application of European directives, the FKNK said.

The PL delegation reiterated its position that EU law has to be observed, but Maltese hunters cannot be treated any worse than other European hunters.
