Obituary

CACHIA. On August 2, ROSE née Briffa, aged 61 years, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Angelo, her daughter Sandra and her husband David, her grandchild Yan, her sisters Salvina and her husband Paul, Marianne and her husband Edwin, Jessie and her husband Charles, Katie and her husband Joseph, Grace and her husband Mario, Carmen and her husband Tony, her brother Alfred and his wife Antida, her in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Trinity parish church, Marsa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by private interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MUSCAT. On August 1, at his residence, Joseph (Debu), of St Paul's Bay, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters Pawlina and Karmena of Australia, Gianninu and his wife Karmena, George and his wife Yvonne of the UK, Maria widow of his brother John Mary, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.45 p.m. for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul's Bay, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul's Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

Quiz on Prince Billy

The United States Embassy will this week be holding a quiz on American singer/songwriter Bonnie Prince Billy.

Winners will receive free tickets to his performance in Malta on August 8 at 7 p.m. in the MITP courtyard, St Paul Street, Valletta.

The three questions about the American star will be posted on the US Embassy website (malta. usembassy.gov/) at mid-day on Thursday. The first three individuals who e-mail the correct answers will each win two free tickets, courtesy of the US Embassy.

Renowned for his unique style and songwriting style, Bonnie Prince Billy will be accompanied b y Emmett Kelly (guitar/vocals) and Cheyenne Mize (violin/ vocals).

The event is being sponsored by the US Embassy and organised by Stagedive (Malta).
