Pascal Okafor, a 19-year-old Nigerian resident in St Paul's Bay, was this evening accused in court with conspiring to traffic cocaine.

He was arraigned before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi in the wake of the discovery yesterday of almost a kilo of cocaine by the police.

The Drug Squad explained in a statement yesterday that the Nigerian was arrested after it received information on drug trafficking.

Mr Okafor pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.
