King of theatre watches Porn
World-renowned theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh was seen watching Porn - The Musical at Argotti Gardens last Friday, ahead of its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Sir Cameron is notable as a producer for his transformation of the musical genre into a global, highly profitable brand.
He has produced mega shows like Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, and more recently, a revival of Oliver!, which was reported to be the fastest selling show in West End history.
The innovative musical Porn - The Musical by Maltese scriptwriter Malcolm Galea and musicians Boris Cezek and Kris Spiteri, has been an overwhelming hit in Malta, prompting producer Winston Azzopardi to export it to the Edinburgh Fringe festival. The group of seven actors and four musicians make their debut in the three-week long festival on Friday.
The hilarious story revolves around Stefan Bugeja who leaves his home in Malta and gets embroiled in the adult film industry.

So what! My opinion of this show is, although I praise the writer and composer for their effort, the show is copied from the hit musical Avenue Q which is still going on successfully in London. In my opinion this show is full of unecessary lyrics mentioning mostly genitals and every other part of the body that most people treat as an intimate part of their lives. Unlike Avenue Q this show does not use the techique of clever sexual undertones, cleverly created into a masterpiece, without making an audience laugh politely at what I believe is an oversexed show.
