The relay quartet of Neil Agius, Edward Caruana Dingli, Mark Sammut and Andrea Agius, kept up the record-breaking momentum of Maltese swimmers in the Rome World Swimming Championships yesterday, when they made huge inroads on the previous 4 x 200 metres national limit of 8 minutes 22.23 seconds set last April.

This time, they registered 8:11.66, thus setting the sixth national record in as many days.

In the morning's opening heats Andrea Agius did a personal best of 25.45 seconds in the 50 freestyle and Edward Caruana Dingli clocked 25.93, while Neil Agius covered the 100 fly in 59.86 seconds, a PB.

Davina Mangion and Talisa Pace swam the 50 butterfly in 30.24 and 31.00 respectively, with Nicole Cremona completing her 200 backstroke in 2:35.69.

Also this week, Caruana Dingli and Mangion also recorded lifetime bests in the heats of the 100 free and 200 fly respectively.
