It’s a very wise decision from the government. Now the people will have more money in their pockets and it will be the end of the recession in Malta What a joke, but the jokes on us!!!

Dont be silly, all the time we have our boats in the water the price of petrol will remain high the pm knows where people enjoy themselves and hits there, Did you not notice the last HUGE hike of 15c per litre was as soon as the boats were put back in the water for the summer period! without an oil price increase to use as an aliby!!!

This is the mediocre 'spoonful of sugar' that is expected to make the 'higher gas price' medicine go down. Nevertheless it is still a hard uncomfortable cushion.

Remember when the PN used to joke about tuna or luncheon meat being reduced by a few cents per tin years ago? As they say min jitkaza jaqa fl-kaza u il-kabura milli jkollha taghtik.

Up 15 cents one day, down 1 cent a few weeks later. Who are you kidding? Our fuel prices are still unbelievably unfair compared to the rest of Europe. And then when one considers Malta's average per capita income, Malta's fuel prices are nothing less than obscene. Wish I had a fuel allowance like Minister Gatt.

If history was to be repeated for the nth time, this slight fuel reduction means that a rise in fuel prices is to be announced in the near future. And anyways what does Enemalta think we are? Donkeys? Goes up by 15 c and down by 1 c.....pathetic if you ask me.

Although at market prices, the reductions we can get will never reach the prices we had 2 months ago (e.g. 0.99c for unleaded which went up to €1.14 on 1 July and now reduced to €1.13). It's always the same sad story, we get a reduction of 1 to 2c every now and then, and one day we get an increase of 15c (like last month) wiping all the previous reductions. I'm not blaming the Government here, but on the other hand I Can Never understand how when international prices went really low, in Malta we have Energy Prices hiked up and petrol prices remained the same. However when international prices move upwards we do not get cushioned and the increase is passed to us consumers. This is not Fair. However here in Malta, it's a fact that people do accept everything that comes up from the upper echelons of the administration. We need competition in this country and not price diktats where energy is concerned. Competition is one of the pillars in EU Countries.
