A 30-year-old policeman was yesterday charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in 2005, defiling her two years later and being in possession of child pornography in June this year.
The officer's name cannot be published by court order because it might lead to the victim being identified.
The arraignment was held behind closed doors and the man pleaded not guilty to raping the girl, holding her against her will in Dingli in 2005, defiling her and offending morals in a public place in the same village.
He also denied filming pornography, possessing pornography of children under the age of nine and committing a crime he was in duty bound to prevent.
Magistrate Anthony Vella remanded him in custody.
Police Inspector Graziella Muscat prosecuted.
Lawyers Anġlu Farrugia, Caroline Farrugia and Edward Gatt were defence counsel.
