Two men in their thirties were yesterday jailed for two years in order to qualify for a drug rehabilitation programme.

Kevin Brincat, 33, and Ivan Galea, 34, pleaded guilty to stealing four mobile phones from the Vodafone outlet in Republic Street, Valletta, on Wednesday.

They sold the phones, worth €150 each, €60 collectively, to fuel their cocaine addiction.

Magistrate Anthony Vella told the men that for them to qualify for a drug rehabilitation programme he had to jail them for not less than two years.

The men agreed and were jailed for two years.
