ABELA. On July 29, CECILIA née Debono, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Dr Gino Abela, her sons Dr Gunther Abela and his wife Dr Sonia Abela, Dr Jurgen Abela and his wife Marika, her grandchildren Emily, Jeremy, Jacob and Glenn, her sisters Elise, wife of Joseph, Helen and her husband Paul, Antoinette, Connie and her husband Mario, her brother Moses and his wife Lydia, her in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Helen Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by private interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated.

AZZOPARDI. On March 31, CHRISTOPHER, of Paola, aged 24. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother Carmen and father Lawrence, his brother Laurence and sister Laura, his nephew Liam, his grandmother Kate, relatives, colleagues at ADT and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for Our Lady of Lourdes church, Paola where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On July 28, DENNIS of Sliema, aged 56 years, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother Josephine, widow of the late Vanni, his brother Donald and his wife Joanne, his sister-in-law Claire, wife of the late Raymond, his nephew Owen, his nieces Amenia and Elena, Bernardine Scicluna, uncles and aunts, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. The family regrets that they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Moviment Madonna Tal-Konsagrazzjoni will be holding a prayer meeting on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. in Girgenti.

Missionary cross

Bro. Josef Cutajar will receive the missionary cross, traditionally given to all friars before they leave on missionary work abroad, in a ceremony on August 7 at 6.30 p.m. at the Balluta parish church. Bro. Cutajar will be joining the Carmelite Friars in Bolivia.

Gozitan graduates' Mass

The Gozitan Graduates Movement will be holding Mass on August 7 at 8.30 p.m. at St Augustine's church, Victoria.
