The Institute of Financial Services Malta recently organised a conference to mark the launch of a series of new qualifications for the local financial services sector.
The range of new qualifications includes Certificate for Customer Service Professionals (CSP); Diploma for Financial Avisers (DipFA); Applied Diploma in Retail Financial Services (ADFRS); Applied Diploma in Corporate Banking (ADCB) and the Foundation Degree in Financial Markets and Management (FdSc).
Mcast, one of the main sponsors of this event, marked a special milestone in its history as the new FdSc degree is one of the first degree qualifications being offered by the college.
The speakers who addressed the conference were Joseph Abdilla, President of the Institute of Financial Services (Malta); Martin Day, Dean of Higher Education at the ifs School of Finance, UK, Prof. Maurice Grech, Principal of Mcast and Christopher Bezzina, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
The event also featured a live video feed from David Hill - global relationship manager of HSBC (UK) as well as with Moiz Chaudhary - portfolio manager with RBS (UK) and student representative of IFS.
The audience was mainly composed of human resource managers of banks, investment and insurance entities, business practitioners, academics, members of the Education Consultative Council, decision-makers from governmental and non-governmental institutions and the regulatory authorities.
This initiative was done in collaboration with the IFS School of Finance (UK), which actively supports the local Institute in offering its professional qualifications.
