Marsascala all but blew away Ta' Xbiex Mermaids Paradise in yesterday's Division Two clash, thus consolidating their second position in the standings with 10 points from 11 matches, two less than leaders Exiles who have a game in hand.

The southerners had to come from behind, albeit an early 5-2 deficit, which matured in the first quarter. From then on, they took over as Ta' Xbiex were unable to infuse a high tempo to their game despite the effort of Yuri Szeles and Botond Szalma.

Marsascala had clearly taken a commanding lead even before Edward Aquilina, the Ta' Xbiex player, had to cry off injured. Their chief scorer was Gabor Suti with four goals.
