The Sliema mayor considers residents who are not car owners as second-class residents. In their majority these are the elderly.

For justice's sake, at least one parking sticker should be issued to every household, irrespective of whether they own a car or not, to be used when necessary by family, carers and home helpers on whom the elderly depend. These have to compete for a parking space with workers, bank employees, hotel staff and other outsiders.

We are all Sliema residents and, as such, we too should have a right to preferential treatment.
