Beach Battle of the Bands competition

I am writing this letter in order to kindle in others a deep desire that I have. This is just a wish I want to share and I expect others more knowledgeable and more competent to start the ball rolling.

The idea is this. In Malta we are blessed by beautiful sea, long hot months with delightful evenings, a very easy-going life and a thirst for a good time. We can use this to further our culture and music abilities in our people and artists in particular.

My dream is to have a sort of Battle of the Bands competition, held fortnightly on a different beach around Malta.

The bands taking part will be voted on each occasion and the one getting more points will be the winner.

This, in a nutshell is the skeleton of the whole thing.

I am sure there are others who are much more competent than I am and can develop on this.

Our youths and musicians will have a motivation for creating music and people will have nice evenings on our beaches enjoying cold beer and snacks... more business, more art, more entertainment, more merriment etc.

We do not have to rely only on feasts but instead do something to increase our artistic values. We will be giving a good opportunity to our artists for expression.

Who knows, maybe other bands from abroad will want to join us!
