AGIUS. On July 27, DORIS of St Julians, aged 82, passed away suddenly, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son Oswald and his wife Mariella, her grandchildren Anthea and Monique and her husband Roberto Micallef, other family, relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will take place tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Balluta, St Julians, followed by interment at the Mosta cemetery. She was greatly loved and shall be greatly missed. Lord grant her eternal rest.

WOOD. GODWIN CHRISTOPHER, aged 82, of East Preston, West Sussex, UK, passed peacefully away on July 19. He leaves to mourn his loss, his son Lewis Neville and his wife Barbara, his daughters Nathalie and her husband Stefan, Nadya and her husband Tim, his brothers Hadrian and Neville and his sister Eileen, his granddaughters Laura, Ava, Stephanie and Jade and his grandsons Leo and Stefan, other relatives and friends. A funeral Mass for the repose of his soul will take place at the Church of Our Lady of the Sea, Vermont Drive, East Preston, tomorrow at 10 a.m., followed by burial at St Wilfrid's Catholic Cemetery in Angmering. Requiem Masses

A Mass for the repose of the soul of ALDO MANARA and ELDA VELLA will be celebrated today at 7.30 p.m. at Osanna Pia Hostel, Rudolph Street, Sliema.

Tomorrow being the 16th anniversary of the passing of our dearest AGNES GRECH, née Zammit, a Holy Mass will be said for the repose of her soul tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception church, Ta' l-Ibraġ. All relatives and friends, who enjoyed her during her lifetime are invited to attend.

Jumble sale

Smile for Albania, a University charity, will be holding a jumble sale on Saturday between 4 and 11 p.m. along the Għar Id-Dud promenade, Sliema. Proceeds will go towards buying dental material and medicine to treat children in Korce, Albania.

Għaxaq event

An evening of food and song will be held in aid of Puttinu Cares Foundation on August 5 at Għaxaq's parish square. Tickets, available from the Santa Marija Band Club in Għaxaq and the Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei Hospital, cost €8 for adults and €4 for children. Call 9944 1161/7920 2632.

Pilgrimage to Dingli

The Gozitan Diocese will be holding a pilgrimage to the Santa Marija parish in Dingli on August 18. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will concelebrate Mass. The group will board the 5.15 p.m. ferry to Ċirkewwa, where transport will be provided, and the 10.15 p.m. ferry back to Mġarr. Tickets cost €3 and are available from archpriests and parish priests.

Painting exhibition

Heritage Malta is exhibiting a series of paintings from the national collection at the National Museum of Fine Arts, South Street, Valletta. The exhibition is open all week until the end of next month. Entrance is free.

Literary evening

The Żejtun local council will be holding a literary evening of poems on Monday at 7 p.m. at San Girgor Garden. Poet Alfred Massa will attend.
