Vodafone Malta Foundation travels the Silk Road

Vodafone Malta Foundation will be travelling the Silk Road by supporting Vodafone Malta employee and cyclist Maria Vella-Galea, in this year's Betfair Lifecycle Challenge 2009, a gruelling annual event organised by the Lifecycle organisation.

This year's event, which will take place between August 6 and 20, will take the cyclists and backup team from Istanbul through Turkey and Syria to Damascus.

The Lifecycle Organisation was launched to highlight the plight of patients suffering from end-stage renal disease and is a voluntary non-profit organisation that also promotes organ donation by organising events and campaigns. Lifecycle also encourages people to carry a donor card.

Donations can be made from by sending a blank SMS to 5061 7370 - €2.33, 5061 8920 - €6.99, 5061 9229 - €11.6 or by calling 5004 9065 - €10.00, 5004 9060 - €20.00

Alternatively cheques or postal orders may be mailed to Life Cycle Organisation c/o Renal Unit, Mater Dei Hospital, Malta.
