All the energy saving bulb vouchers promised to Maltese and Gozitans have been sent, the government said. These amounted to 130,000 vouchers.

The Resources Ministry said in a statement that through this measure, Maltese and Gozitan families were being assisted to adopt energy saving measures and safeguard the environment.

The vouchers entitle one to two person families to five bulbs, a three to four person family to eight bulbs and a family with five or more people to 10 bulbs.

The number of people in a family is according to the number of people registered as residents in a home with the Water Services Corporation.

The vouchers can been redeemed at 240 shops in Malta and Gozo on presentation of one’s ID card.

The ministry said it would now be analysing reports of people who did not receive the vouchers or received less vouchers than explained in the scheme.

The scheme remains on until the end of October.
