Dock no. 1 in Cospicua was recently a sight of things to come when the venue served as a temporary marina for a number of yachts participating in the 15th edition of Bordée Maltaise, a yachting race from France to Malta.

The yachts were hosted by the Malta Maritime Authority following the refurbishing of Dock 1 to accommodate the competing boats.

Organised by Club des Passionnés de Voile, the 12-day Bordée Maltaise race took off from Port Fréjus on the French Riviera on July 5 and entered Malta's Dock no. 1 marina on July 18, following a series of stopovers in Corsica, Sardinia and Tunisia.

Last Sunday, the Malta Tourism Authority offered the sailors a guided tour of Valletta, Mdina and the south of Malta. In the evening, the authority organised a prize-giving ceremony, followed by a cocktail at the Vittoriosa waterfront.
