Expatriate health insurer Bupa recently held a seminar to give clients an insight into the impact of influenza and how to prevent the spread of swine flu.

Michael Borg, a consultant at the Infection Control Unit at Mater Dei Hospital highlighted how the influenza virus is a significant threat. He also offered advice on measures to reduce the health risk of seasonal human flu viruses or those associated with possible pandemics, like swine flu.

Adriana Zarb Adami, Bupa Malta branch manager, said the initiative aimed to provide clients with the most up-to-date and accurate information about influenza, with a particular focus on swine flu since it recently reached pandemic levels.

Bupa has over 800,000 expatriate customers in over 190 countries.
