A man appeared in court yesterday after he was allegedly caught red-handed trafficking heroin when he was accompanied by his 10-year-old son.
Pierre Cremona, 36, was caught by the Drugs Squad after weeks of work when they stopped him and found over a kilogram and a half of heroin on Wednesday, the police said.
They said they also found a substantial amount of cash in his car. He pleaded not guilty to conspiring to import the drugs, and possession of the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his exclusive use.
He also denied trafficking in the drug in August 2001 and relapsing.
Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani remanded him in custody.
Police Inspectors Norbert Ciappara and Pierre Grech prosecuted.
Lawyer Charlene Briffa appear-ed for the accused.
