An alcoholic who stands charged with threatening a former partner was this morning granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
Christopher Micallef, 42, is alleged to have gone to where Shirley Abela lives with her father Emmanuele yesterday and threatened them while completely drunk.
He is also charged with breaching the peace, resisting the police and assaulting two officers at the Mosta Health Centre and one officer at Mater Dei Hospital.
Inspector Edmond Cuschieri told the court that it was always the same story with Mr Micallef. He got drunk and visited the Abelas causing trouble. He presented the court with 12 reports made by the father and daughter about his behaviour.
Mr Micallef pleaded not guilty.
