LUNGARO MIFSUD - ELENA, née Rausi, widow of Victor, passed away peacefully on July 19, comforted by the presence of her family and the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Vincent and his wife Marlene, Mary Rose Chalmers and her husband Roderick, her grandchildren Kevin, James, John, Amanda, Nicholas and Alistair, as well as her great-grandchildren Ellie, Chiara, Francesca, Alexander, Kate and Marisol, her brother Albert, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral takes place on July 23, with a Mass in celebration of her long life taking place at 9 a.m. at Ta' l-Ibraġ parish church. The family would like to thank the staff at Casa Antonia, Balzan, and the medical and nursing staff at Mater Dei and Zammit Clapp hospitals for their compassionate care and great kindness.

VELLA. On July 20, JOSEPH, 83 of Sta Venera, ex-senior outside broadcasting engineer, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Lucy, nèe Grima, his daughter Marika and her husband Ray, his son Simon and his wife Debbie, his beloved granddaughters Lianne and Lara and his beloved grandson Oliver, his brother's family and his wife's family, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for the parish church of Sta Venera where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi, Siġġiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On July 20, RITA, aged 79, of Sliema, passed away peacefully at St Vincent de Paule Residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Leonard and his wife Tonia, Mario and his wife Mary Rose, her sister Josette widow of Charles Gallon, nephews and nieces, other relatives and innumerable friends. The funeral leaves the residence tomorrow at 9 a.m. for the Sacro Cuor parish church in Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Ward 2 for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Literary evening

A literary evening with a difference will be held by the University's Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies tomorrow focusing on readings translated into Maltese.

The evening will also include an audiovisual presentation and musical accompaniment by Ulrike Buhlmann on the bassoon and John McDonough on the oboe.

The event forms part of the Evening on Campus programme and will be held at 8.30 p.m. at the Old University in St Paul's Street, Valletta.

Piano plans forum

Renzo Piano's plans for City Gate will be discussed in a forum organised by the St James Centre for Creativity and the Council for Culture and the Arts on Saturday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The forum will be held at St James Cavalier in Castille Place, Valletta.

The Gozo Tourism Association has launched its redesigned portal. The website features a comprehensive catalogue of hotels, historical attractions, entertainment and commercial venues. A multimedia section offers a glimpse of the many sites and sounds that draw visitors to the island's shores.
