I feel shocked as well as ashamed that some Maltese people have lost all respect for the life of other human beings if they are of a different ethnicity. I believe the violent death of a foreign man in Paceville was at least partially racially motivated.

The Ħal Far story, however, leaves absolutely no doubts in my mind that these three people literally beat a person and left him dying in the middle of the street because he was black and resided at the Ħal Far open centre.

The attempt to make it look like a robbery by stealing the victim's wallet is ridiculous. Theft is on the rise in Malta, which I attribute partially to the escalating drug problem. However, pick-pocketing and purse snatching, while on the increase, are never accompanied by extreme violence and there is rarely any significant physical violence.

It's quite hard to believe these people nearly murdered a person just to snatch his wallet.

I don't think the majority of Maltese people are racist. This can be seen by acts of kindness towards migrants, including that of the motorcyclist in this particular case who possibly saved the victim's life.

When the occasion arises, even many Maltese who complain about African migrants in Malta and are worried about this new phenomenon show due respect to them.

However, this does not mean racism doesn't exist. We have racists from all walks of life. Some limit themselves to the way they speak, which is also shameful in itself.

Yet, some have now turned to violence and murder. This is not only shameful but extremely dangerous. This is definitely a much bigger threat to national security than any kind of both legal or illegal migration.
