A glaring omission

In his letter A Memorable Event (July 6) following the entry into Valletta of the statue of St Publius, former Floriana mayor Publio Agius thanked the Għaqda tal-Pawlini (Valletta), the Grupp Ħidma San Publju Martri (Floriana ), the police corps and also Fr Richard Borg, the Floriana archpriest, but failed to thank the Floriana local council, which went out of its way (as can be testified by officials at the Valletta police station), in order to make Monday, June 29, a truly memorable occasion. Surely, having been mayor of the locality, he was well aware of the council's efforts in this event. Why the omission?
