A big thank you to animal lovers

On my own behalf and on behalf of all animal lovers in Malta and Gozo, I would like to convey a heartfelt thank you to The Times for bringing to the public attention the acts of animal cruelty that are constantly taking place on these islands.

It is now time to expose these barbarians who are committing these despicable acts of cruelty and bring them to justice. Hopefully the magistrates handling these cases will do their part and hand down heavy sentences so that these senseless acts of cruelty will stop at once. We animal lovers are crying out for justice to be done so that our dear loved ones will be protected from these heartless barbarians.

How many more animals must be cruelly massacred before someone is brought to justice and get what he deserves through the normal legal channels?

Again I would like to thank The Times and hope that it will continue the good work of raising awareness about cruelty to animals.

I would also like to thank the Animal Welfare Department, SPCA Gozo, Gozo Civil Protection, the police and all concerned in helping to bring to attention this cruelty. You are truly appreciated.
