• Today Victoria celebrates the feast of St George. At 8 a.m. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, accompanied by the basilica chapter and clergy, leads a procession from the Episcopal palace in Republic Street to the basilica for a pontifical concelebrated Mass. Joseph Vella's Mass in D in honour of St George for orchestra, soloists and choir will be performed. Soprano Miriam Cauchi, tenor Antonio Interisano and baritone Jaki Jurgec will participate. Band marches by the St George Band of Qormi and St Margaret Band of Sannat will take place at 11a.m. Bishop Nikol Cauchi leads pontifical vespers at 6 p.m. The procession starts at 7 p.m. with the participation of La Stella Band.

• The Gaulitanus Choir will present 'A Night with the Musicals' at St John's Demi-Bastions in Victoria on Wednesday at 9 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts has called upon people who wish to apply for any of the 65 courses for the scholastic year 2009-2010. Applications are obtainable from all councils or on www.gozoarts.com. and are to be submitted by September 1.

• The Folkloristic Foundation Ta' Klula will hold a Folklore Evening at the square of Santa Luċija Gozo on Saturday at 8 p.m. For booking call Carmen on 7956 6496.
