An electrical engineer died yesterday from an electric shock he received while working on a yacht at the Vittoriosa waterfront.

Dennis Cassar, engineer by profession and a biker by passion, was working on some electrical connections in the engine room of the Sanssouci Star at about 10 a.m. when he was electrocuted, police sources said.

Mr Cassar, married and the father of two young children, lived in St Paul's Bay. He was fondly remembered by Gertrude Lia, who together with her husband would often meet him for Sunday rides on their motorbikes. "Dennis was such a jolly person, very happy go-lucky," she said.

Edward Aquilina, who works with Mr Cassar's wife, said everybody loved him. "He was a gentleman. He had a great heart, like that of a bear," he said.
